Need help upgrading map on tomtom xxl?

I need a new map for my tomtom xxl. I have tried Western Eurpe 855_2884 but when I turn on the gps it says it can't use it. I have activated the map with autoactivate so what am I doing wrong?
Do I have to patch anything else on the gps to get the new map to work?

The navcore must also be patched or use a pre-patched copy.

How do I patch the navcore? I have just tried 4.1D keygen but it says "navcore ttsystem problem you need a genuine non-patched file. What now?

use Fast-Activate Premium to patch your NavCore...
Download --> Here!
Then extract its content to your desktop for now (Password : navitotal)

then follow this....

1. Plug your tomtom device to your PC
2. Copy "FastActivate.exe" to the root of your tomtom
3. Run "FastActivate.exe"
4. click on the button named "ttsystem/PNDnavigator"
5. disconnect your tomtom from PC
6. Reboot
7. Done

Works?
