New map on TT one (NEW EDITION)

Postby combat goofwing » Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:09 pm

not sure then i have this a couple of times before it freezing on the tom tom start up screen and each time replacing the boot loader has sorted it , try removing the ttgo.bif file from the SD card (make a copy of it) then get it to boot up , each time it boots up it creates a new ttgo.bif file so maybe by creating a new one it will boot. Im off to work nowso if that doesnt work maybe some one else can jump in to help, ill read up later if i get a chance

Im a new player regarding tomtom map update.
So far ive succesfully, downloaded the scandinavian map Scandinavia 855.2884, a new navcore SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb, and the 3 apps ,FASTACTIVATE, TOMTOM CLEAR FLASH TOOL and KEYGEN 4.1D. Ive made a backup up my current map by copying the entire device to folder onmy hdd(using explorer)

My first questions is, how do I proceed ?

Christian

1. Delete FASTACTIVATE, TOMTOM CLEAR FLASH TOOL and KEYGEN 4.1D. The navcore SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar that you downloaded from TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation does not need them.

2. Go back here TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation and read the instructions very carefully!!! They tell you exactly what to do.

combat goofwing wrote:extract the navcore to your device overwritting when propmted to do so
copy map and fast activate over to your device, and remove the old map from the device
run fast activate and that should be it
extras you could add a TT vocalizer to give spoken street names and numbers instead of just left or right
also speed cams to the map

Honeycup is using TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation You might want to read it carefully also.

Please be very careful about offering bootloader advice!!!!

good morning. Ive now deleted the apps tendriver suggested. I installed navcore once again while following the instructions (I gather this is not a fresh istall - I have a ttgo.bif on my device so I didnt boot before I ran the autoactivate.exe). Anyway, the problem still exits - maybe I should start with a "clean" device and just format it ?
Any advice is welcomed :)

You have a tt one V4 (New Edition 2008) Right ??
The navcore you are trying to install is not good for your device,
Start again following the instructions below, For this occasion because you have installed a navcore not sutable for your device i recommend delete'ing all contents of your tomtom drive/sd card first before you install the new navcore, Follow instructions below.

Please DO NOT advise newbies to upgrade they'r bootloader unless you know 100% what the problem is, youd be better off waiting for a mod to come along and solve it.

thanks
