New member with old Nav

Postby SaabNoob » Mon Jan 09, 2017 2:40 pm

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks in advance for the quite obvious amount of work you guys have put in compiling all this info, maps, tutorials etc.

I finally got around to updating our old TomTom OneXL only to find it's not supported by TT any more so i'm hoping i can get whatever was the last map release and install that from here. I may even venture to see if the Navcore can be updated from our (apparently) ancient 8.010

Keep up the good work.

Wow, that was quick.

It does have an SD slot but no card in at present (that woudln't be difficult to change though). The internal memory is 489Mb (512?) of which 167Mb is currently used. I cleared a load of unused voice data etc out and that was just the bare bones that was left.

It only gets used in the U.K. so just the U.K. and Ireland maps are all i'd need. Our current map is 710.1571 and from the chart on here i believe i need 955.6745 or 955.6801 or 955.6803 but that was as far as i got before registering and saying hello.

Make a Backup
Delete the content of the XL

* Aanbevolen 9.510 DSA 32MB ram.
Download unpack and place files and folders on the XL
[Please Register or Login to download file]
--
1) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
2) Map United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland.980_7898
noref.php?url=http://relink.to/f/767e7c15ee4db33a2f30635d6ff97c
--
3) Copie the chosen map to your XL in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
4) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device root (internal or SD Card).
noref.php?url=http://linkcrypt.ws/dir/m24dq269u7183k4
Run "FastActivate.exe".
     Select 2 and Done
=================
p.s.
THERE IS A PROBLEM REPORTING OFFLINE FILES. IF FILES APPEAR TO BE OFFLINE, THEY ARE NOT. JUST CLICK ON FILE TO DOWNLOAD

Like to hear the result Good or Bad

Absolutely brilliant. I've only just had time to get this done but your instuctions are spot-on. All appears to be working but i've yet to go anywhere to try it fully.

Many thanks, that's saved me a huge amount of time.
