New to Tom Tom Go 500

Hello Everybody,

I`m new user of TomTom Go 500/510, I`m looking for a download and install European maps to my GPS, but i get stuck which map version the working with my device, and how to install.

There are two types of Go 500's...a very old model or a modern type, which one do you have?





If it's the top one, we might be able to help...

If it's the bottom one, you have no choice but to buy a new map from TomTom themselves...read this

My tom Tom is tge new device.
Does that mean that the only way I've is to buy the maps ????
No other possibilty to download and install it freely from the Internet

Yes, your only option is to buy a new map direct from TT I'm afraid

Yes, that is true but this is where TT mislead people with their 'lifetime' updates...

'Lifetime' means as long as TT decide to support the device which is generally accepted to be about 5 years...after that you'll have to buy a new one

The lifetime update is not mapshare, on my device the news roads appears with the last map's version

Yes, true but this is of no help if the OP wants a different map or region to the one he had on the device originally...in this case he'll need to buy a new map from TT

I've Western Europe map, and I was looking for the Eastern Europe

Not....I'll say it again:

Your only option is to buy a new map direct from TT so there is no point in discussing it any further.
