Hy guys!Is it here somwhere a tutorial or something that will help me instal a new map on a new sd card for tomotom carminat?Its true that i found something but only bits and pices.Is there a something on how to bild from scrach?Many thanks

First tell us wich navcore your Carminat has.

Navcore 8842!..just downloded,seems that this is the latest for me

Folowing the link above its not enough...
Need to create a .bif file and i dont know how and what about with the meta code?do i copy the code from here and place it in the sd just like that or i have to create another file wich has to contayn the meta code?

What to do?

0) Put a new sd-card in your Radio/Carminat and let create the folder "loopdir"

1) Extract "NC_8842_Full_Complete_Install_yDGpatch.zip" and copy folders and files to your sd-card.
Download

2) Make a "ttgo.bif" file. Copie this file to the root SD Card
Create a text file with notepad called ttgo.bif (NOT ttgo.bif.txt) in the root directory of your sd card
and inside put these lines:
DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX (Your Unique Device ID with no spaces)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842 (Your Current navcore version, this is the latest official)

How to get your device ID
Open Tom-Tom Home with your old set up engaged, and take note of your Device ID
Help > System Information > Device Code > XXXXXXXXXX

DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=AKTPZBAFQ2
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842

3) Use map Europe_Zone_West 1010_8897
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Unpack it and Copy the new map to your SD card in its own folder.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
4) Download FastAktivate, unpack (Temporarily set your virus scanner off)

Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
   Select 2.

Done

Virusscanner on again.

How do i create the file in notepad with the extension .bif?

DeviceUniqueID
close bif file and done

Hello. I just buyed a Renault with TomTom Carminat GPS installed.
I will insert the code from my car and i would like some help because i am lost.
What maps i can download for this version.
I am in need for Europe maps.

I followed and the car gps says No available maps ...
Any ideea to fix this ?

Hello,
I have a Carminat TomTom Live.
I downloaded the map France 1010.8897 and installed it.
Fastactivate tells me that everything is ok but my GPS tells me that the card can not work on this device.
What to do?

No there is no solution on a Live Carminat you can only buy a map.
