Newbie Guide for updating a 720 GO

Postby neogeo123 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 12:47 pm

Hi all,

Just looking for a guide to update my TOMTOM Go 720 to the latest TTSYSTEM/NAVCORE and maps. To hopefully enable the Lane Guidance on a 720 Go...

Thanks
Tony

Your navcore is OK. What area do you need a map for?

Is it possible to have the latest UK map on SD case aswell as the current Western Europe on the Internal?

Yes, you can have as many maps as you can load onto your internal and/or SD card.
By current WE, do you mean what you already have or the latest WE.

I agree with djc except a 720 doesn't need the basicpack. That is for 32MB RAM Memory units. A .cab file & SE ttsystem file is all I ever use on my 720.

Download this .cab file instead.

Copy in the Navcore & only the SE ttsystem & PNDNavigator files from the .zip, overwriting any common files.

This is the current full featured WE map. Western Europe 850.2781 [1.84GB]
It is too large for your internal. I suggest putting the UK map on the internal & WE on the card.

Use this tool to patch the maps.

Is there any chance of being left with a brick if everything does not go to plan (PS. I already have a backup)

Thanks

Unzip it just like you do a .rar or .zip download. Copy the contents into your 720.
