Just joined the forum as you look like some knowledgeable chaps...so hope you can help.

Ive just bought a second hand TomTom Start model number 1EX00.

It was sold to me as new..turned on,tried it and maps worked..speed cams worked...so plugged into home pc and went to update via Tomtom home.

Only when it came to updating a message popped up about incorrect map...so had a look via my computer and ended up deleting the damn map.


Looks like someone has tried to use a cracked version...so assume they have either used incorrect software or similar.

So big ask...can someone help with either the right map i need or maybe better still wipe the memory and start fresh.

When switched on it comes up with spash screen and a message saying Select a map at top of screen and a message middle of screen that says No maps found.

Thats as far as it goes...if plugged into pc i can access tom tom home and the internal memory...no card slot with this little fella.

Ive had a search..but just cant seem to find an answer to my issue.

Really would appreciate some help.

1. What were you trying to update?
2. This may or may not have been necessary.
3. Why do you assume this?
4. Not until you help us by posting the current navcore on the Start, the map that was on the unit when purchased & what area you need a map to cover.

1. Was just seeing if it had updates avaialble...alwayss nice to have them updated i find

2.Probably very silly but was dont without thinking.

3.Assume its cracked as theres a keygen and mentions truck (so assume they tried loading the truck version..low bridges/weight limits ect..?)

4.Navcore i dont know..it comes up Tomtom and regardless of whats pressed it says TomTom with the red hands..for maybe 10 seconds and next screen is no maps found...nothing else is visable.
The map was uk and ireland..i would need just UK map.

I can access the internal memory..if the navcore is accessable in that then obvioulsy id be happy to have a look...other than that im stumped.

Run FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 & post the results here.

Your 9057 navcore is the current one for your Start.

Go to the "All New Maps 895.XXXX" Download & unzip the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland v895.4438 map. Copy the 4438 folder into the Start.
NOW run FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 per the instructions to patch the map. I suspect that you are correct about the navcore already being patched. Disconnect & reboot.
