Newbie needs help

Hi there!

I'm new here and trying to update an XXL 540.

I have some experience messing with Garmin devices, but so far I'm having a lot of headaches with TomTom.

I've downloaded the maps from here and also read something about FastActivate, but I not sure how to proceed.


-Will I be able to restore everything if I do a Backup from Windows Explorer from every file in the GPS ?

- If I install maps from here, shouldn't I uninstall the maps in my GPS first?

Yesterday I've tried to install the maps I've downloaded from here.

I've also tried to activate them using FastActivate, also downloaded from here.

Something didn't go right, since I can't load any map in My GPS.

please, I really need help now

I'm a better now.

At least my GPS can load now, and shows my old maps.
Not lucky with the ones I've downloaded from here.
