So do I let the installer create the files on my tomtom card then do I need to do anything else like copy the system file? Did I waste time downloading parts 2-12 if the installer does it all?

You might want to reread posts 5 & 7.

Everything is copied to the memory card but it starts up, says there no is voice installed (i dont want one anyway) stays in Parliament Square in London for about 30 seconds then reboots itself and goes through the same process again. Is there anything I need to change/copy that I haven't already?

Confirm that you have
Put a copy of your device's ttgo.bif on the 4GB card.
3. Unzipped & copied the 8.398 navcore & pre-patched ttsystem file in post 5 to the card.
4. Auto-installed the 875 map to the card. Confirm there is a .meta.dct & a .tmeta.dct file in the map folder.
5. Put the card in your unit & reboot.

I can confirm all of the above.

with the .meta files I have:

Europe_Truck-408.meta
Europe_Truck-408.meta.dct
Europe_Truck-408.tmeta
Europe_Truck-408.tmeta.dct

As far as I can tell, I have followed all the steps you've said.

Confirm that you are not using TT Home for any of this.

Does the version of navcore that the sat nav has installed on the built in memory have any effect on the truck maps? It originally has 8.010 installed and looking at the maps table the 875-3649 maps aren't compatible with it. Or by having the new navcore does this over ride this?

1. NO, not at all.
2. Your unit can not use both internal & external memory at the same time. To use a card, you must have a navcore & a map on it, which you do. When the card is inserted in the unit, it becomes the default setup, blocking out the internal setup.

Is that different to the navcore I am trying to get to work? Where do I find truck navcore?

1. Ok
2. The card says I have navcore but according to a previous post, I need truck navcore?

I'm going to start from scratch again today and see how it turns out this time, thank you for your help.

I've done a fresh install of the maps, navcore and copied files to/from the sd card and tomtom as instructed. Now my sat nav turns on, loads the card, then shows the tomtom logo screen then goes through the process again.

What's gone wrong this time?

I've noticed in the ttgo file that I copied from the device to the card, it says the current map is nothing, do I need to type the truck map folder name here? so it knows to use that as the map?
