Newbie with a GO 720

Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:09 am

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site (but techno savvy), I did some reading in the tutorial section and gathered what I could to not just ask for a step by step...(cloudier than just jailbreaking an iphone!!!) So here is what I tried to do to help you all help me LOL. I wanted to know if I have downloaded the right files, then, any help walking me through the install (if I can put the new map over my existing map on the actual device, or do I have to put on my SD card..2GB .. and if so the procedures), thanks for any and all help!! :

You are 0 for 3 on your selections.

1. SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY)

2. North_America_2GB_880_3810 [1711MB] OR
North_America_2GB v880.3810 with Automatic Installer & Patcher

3.
FastActivate 24.11.2011 {1.8.8.0}

Instructions are available in each of the 3 threads where these 3 downloads are located.

There isn't enuf room on the internal memory for both maps. Your 705 is worthless & not worth saving. Remove it prior to installing your new map.

JDownload is irritating the hell out of me!!! I stiil cant get it to download while I am at work so I end up with 1 file. It keeps asking for a caption response so while I am at work it doesnt keep downloading the 200mb files! Does anyone have a single link maybe through premium or another download site? or am I doing something wrong with Jdown??? I have all the other files ready to go.

Okay... (I hate being a newbie)... I looked through the tutorial already and really did not find a "do this before you do this..." So I want to make sure I do not mess anything up. I have everything downloaded and ready to go... ie..

1. SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY)

2. North_America_2GB v880.3810 with Automatic Installer & Patcher

3. FastActivate 24.11.2011 {1.8.8.0}

I backed up my old map just incase.. but removed it from my TT....
soooooooo i am ASSuming... I do them in order.. install the Navcore, then map, then fastact... then reboot?

FastActivate was included in the list, if you chose to manually install & patch the map. You chose Auto-install, so you don't need it.

1. Install the navcore.
2. Make sure there is a ttgo.bif file on your unit. If so, run the map installer. Disconnect & reboot.

You might want to look at my signature line[s] for information and instructions. Personally, I like Cryptload.

Navcore installed and good to go, verified ttgo.bif is there... how do I give this thing a slimfast?! When I try to install the map, it gets to the last file..."POI" and says "unable to install, probably out of space.". Is there a folder in there that is "okay" to remove to get some space back?

Can you take a screen shot of the root of your 720 & post it? There isn't anything in the 9.205 navcore or 880 map to delete. It will have to be something that is already on your device.

There is nothing else that you need to download for now. Keep Chas' suggestion for next time. I also use Cryptload.

Here is a copy of the screen shot. I backed up the old 2GB N AMerica folder and removed from the device, and then I backed up the "LOGUENDO TTS" and removed only: French & Spanish folders from the TT. Installed the navcore, verified the ttgo.gif, installed the map and it brought up the active file at the end, i selected the drive and it ran for a second, showed the map and said "ok". I ejected it and restarted. It starts with the logo... stalls and then goes off... then when I try to turn on it doesn’t come on. I plug in and start TT Home and it sees the device, I select "operate device" and it says select mao.. and gives the error message I also attached.

Open the 3810 map folder on the device & take a screen shot of it, please. Did the map installer tell you how many MBs of memory you needed to free up?
