No, it just gave me the option to cancel once it said "POI could not be installed". That is when I canceled, removed the 2 GB N Amer folder it started on the TT, removed the Spanish and french folders from LoquendoTT and reran the map install successfully.

1. It starts with the logo... stalls and then goes off... then when I try to turn on it doesn’t come on.

1. If you still have this issue, do a hard reset by holding the reset button in for 30 seconds.

Doing that now... progress has been made!! When I go into TThome, it started right up, gps showed where I was at and i was able to "Operate my Go" while it was logged in. Once I removed and started, it did the same thing (begin to start, and then shut off). Going to do a hard reset now.

Remove the mapsettings.cfg file from the map folder & reboot. Keep in mind that "Operate my GO" is just an emulation/simulation & isn't any good for trouble shooting.

Sorry for the delay!!.. But I removed the mapsettings.cfg and it still begins to startup and then shuts down. I was thinking maybe a battery problem but it stays on while connected to the computer (with the "do not disconnect" message) so I ruled that out. Not sure where to go from here.

Let's start over. Follow the instructions exactly!!
Remove everything from your 720, except the 3810 map folder.
Copy your navcore 8.351 backup, minus the old map, onto your unit.
Download http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/9.205.rider3.CAB-navcore-RIDER.cab Unzip it & copy all folders & files to your unit, overwriting any common files.
Download these pre-patched files. [Please Register or Login to download file] Unzip & copy them to your unit, overwriting any common files.
Disconnect & reboot.

Thanks.. Everything is done..Rebooted and it pulls up abd boots like normal. Then, when I tapped the screen to pull up the menu, it freezes like it is going to the menu, stays there and then shuts off after about 15 seconds. It has a GPS signal, corrected itself with the time.. but everytime I tap the menu it freezes, shutsdown, and reboots.

OK let's try another hard reset. If no help, delete the mapsettings.cfg, if your unit has been created a new one.

Removed the mapsettings.cfg and it still boots and allows me to tap the shortcuts (but its just a dot and when I get into shortcuts they are all blank squares with the titles under "turnoff sound, FM transmitter..etc"). When I install the navcore, I clicked on it to open (from my desktop) and select all, copy and paste... or was I suppose to just drop the downloaded navcore.cab onto the TT?

Seems your Navcore installation is faulty.
Overwrite all files and folders on the TT with the content of the .cab file for the Navcore.
Same for the pre-patched files.
Confirm to overwrite all existing files/folders.

I realized what probably is the problem!!! Not paying attention, the folder I had my original files in, I call myself backing up the files right before I deleted everything off the TT.. and where did I copy and paste those files??? You guessed it.. In my folder called "Original Backup", overwritting any original files that I had... so when I copied and pasted the "original 8.351 files", they were the one's I was trying to get rid of!! Does anyone have a copy of the original 8.351 NAVCOR or is there another option I have?

Still no luck. Downloaded the 8.351, removed everything from the TT except the 2GB N America Map folder, copied and pasted 8.351 Navcore, then copied and pasted 9.205 and accepted all overwrites, then copied and pasted the 2 patched files (PNDNavigator & ttsystem), fastactivated voice/maps. Ejected and it started back up on its own once ejected, then it asked if I want to connect to computer.. no, let it load up, and touched the screen for menu and it froze and rebooted. Did a hard reset and rebooted, same thing.. freeze on menu touch. Went back in and removed the mapsetting.cfg, ejected and it started back up on its own, and the same thing... freeze and reboot when I touch the screen for menu. It did find a gps signal, updated the time on its own, but the short cut box is missing the arrow, and when I go into shortcuts, they all are blank squares but have the title underneath (turn off sound, add to favorites, etc.) Also, when I go into my computer, the TT drive (J).. it doesnt have the normal logo and title, but says "internal (J)"..

No. I need to work on your problem a bit. I have this exact set up on my 720.

In the meantime copy this attached file to the root of your device & reboot.
