My Next Silly Question about TT ONEs!

My Next Silly Question about TT ONEs!

Postby gm4nsz » Sun Jun 26, 2011 12:21 pm

Hi again,

Now that I have found the site, and what I can do to improve my TT, I have searched out my Father's old TT ONE Mk1 from the attic. I has on it Navcore 6.560 and Great_Britain-Map v605.0:lol:

HOME wants to update it to 7.903, but when I try that the TT hangs at the startup screen. I asked TT who were very helpful but could only suggest that I ignored the update - so not that helpful:thumbdown:

Is there anything I can do with this unit to update the Navecore or Map that will keep it running? It only has a 128 card but I could easily double that, or more. However, I suspect that it won't take anything much more modern.

Hi, a few days ago I updated one that had never been connected to a pc since the day it was purchased. TTHome updated the Navcore (to 7.903) and also the Bootloader as well as the GPS firmware. Once the updates were complete, I deleted the old map folder, loaded a new map from Navitotal and used Fastactivate to patch the map and the system file, added the latest speed cameras ... and now have a fine, current, unit.

I can't help with why your update failed - was it in fact the update that failed or was it that the TT failed to boot AFTER the update? Did you try a hard reset?

As far as the SD Card is concerned, backup your existing card (using Explorer, not TTHome) and then restore the contents to a new bigger card - your unit accepts SD Cards up to 2 Gb, but a 1GB should be sufficient unless you want to install a European map. Do make sure that the battery is as fully charged as you can get it to be as battery depletion during a bootloader or firmware update, will be terminal. A better option is to keep a power source applied - just in case.

Hope this helps/encourages. There's life in the old 'One' yet...

BTW - is that a call-sign I see?

Correct:clap: And thanks for the info. I also hadn't updated it for a while, but it's HOME that wants to update it and it's after that update to the Navcore that it hangs. I am happy to play around with SD cards now, but it could just be that mine is an older version than yours?

Ummmmmmmm... that wasn't aimed at you, it was meant for me and was a reference to post I made in another section !

Thank you for pointing that out Yurbuh Tuggly, like my women, I gave up counting them... lol

As for the original version of the One... no, I don't believe so, mine was 6.501 with boot 4.81

As Macca-Wacka suggests, get a larger card. Copy the 7.903 navcore & a current 870.xxxx UK & ROI to it.
Go here: FastActivate ENG 29.05.2011 {1.8.7.0} Read the instructions. Select the Premium version to patch the navcore & map.

Now sorted, thanks to all for the assistance.

1. Bigger SD Card!
2. Clean Install of 7.903 and Map 870.3419
3. ZIP and Cameras Installed
4. Fastactivate buttons 1, 2 & 3.
Job Done:dance:

However, still 2 questions.
What do I need to know about Bootload? (This has Boot 5,0500)
Should I expect to get GPS Updates with this old thing? I don't seem to be.

Thanks.

3. Postcode v870 is current.
5. You need to know that, if the unit boots, don't mess with the bootloader.
6. Yes. TT Home looks at what is loaded on the device, not how old it is.

Well Done!! Enjoy!!
