1. Did fastactivate again and reboot. Same result, the thing wont go past the boot screen like always.
Just out curiousity, I know you said that Operate in Home is just a simulation. But when I ran that the ttgo file changed to this:
2. Should it change like that or stay steady in some sort of configuration?
Thanks for you help, sorry to be such a pain.

1. Still no meta.dct file in the map folder?
2. A new ttgo.bif is created eveytime you boot your device or run "operate my device". It shows the current setup. Your device is doing exactly what it should do.

After I did fastactivate it did appear. BUT.....
Not knowing when to leave things alone, I decided to erase all of the files this morning.
Then TTHome installed and updated everything except map.
Rebooted and it said no maps. Of course that was expected.
Installed PNDNav & ttsystem files.
Installed the .3254 map and patched.
I hit the update meta.txt button on fastactivate by accident. It went to the screen and didnt say anything but just went back to the button screen.
I tried to open the Meta.txt file and it said it was corrupt. Problem???
Now it wont load past the TomTom symbol.
I dont know if it matters or not but when I open explorer, the TT is just recognized as an external drive, not as before where the TT symbol would appear.
Damn, should I just start looking for a new device? Have a screwed this one up too far? I know it worked before I started messing with it.

Well, as I said earlier : if it works with the original and complains about the map .... ;)
It shows that something goes wrong when you patch/activate the files.
Updating the meta.txt in FastActivate is not only no problem, but should be the first thing to klick anyway - this way the tool get's all the codes for the map activation.
So you see it is no problem hitting this button.
If a PNDNavigator is present you only patch this file, if there is only a ttsystem you patch this.
But you never patch both, the PNDNavigator and ttsystem.
You TT shows as a normal drive without symbol because the autostart.inf and the .bmp file for the symbol is missing - nothing to worry about and it won't affect the TT.
Try agan like before : install with Home the official Navcore - make sure to check again as Home updates in steps sometimes.
Add the map folder.
Check if the TT start normal and complains about the map.
Connect to PC again and run FastActivate (in the root of the TT), klick on the update button and that patch the Navcore and activate the map.
Now it should work just fine.
If still no go let me know and I'll update a complete Navcore that is already patched and working, you only have to add a map and activate it.

Couldnt leave it alone till morning.
Cleared the device.
Hooked it up to Home and it updated several times till I got the 9.061 Navcore.
Rebooted and of course it said no maps.
Loaded the .3254 map file.
Reloaded again and it said problem with current map.
Now the thing I am unsure about is what DownUnder was talking about in Post 48.
Now that I have the map installed along with FastActivate, which buttons do I push.
It looks like he was saying to ONLY hit the Update the meta.txt file and that should be all I need?
Will wait a response before I hit ANY buttons.
Thanks

Hit the first three buttons.
Update meta.txt, maps, voices, speedcams, ttsystem/PNDNavigator
If you use Vista/Win7 run the Activator as Administrator (Right klick, runs as... )

Finally, there is some light at the end of the tunnel :)
I hope you'll make a full backup using Windows Explorer now, before something else happened again ;)
