TT ONE V3 and ALG

Mon Apr 01, 2013 5:37 pm

I'm in the process of upgrading my TT ONE v3 to 8 GB via a solder on SD card. After that, I will be able to load maps with IQ routes and ALG. The ONE 140 supports IQ and ALG out of the box but, I'm wondering if there are any hardware restrictions running these features on a ONE v3. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

I use IQ routes and ALG on a TomTom ONE V1 (2005) almost daily and the hardware is very capable of it. The hardware of the ONE V3 is almost the same.
See this list.
I use navcore 8.412SE wich I find to runs the smoothest and is very stable on those 32MB devices, but some 9.x-navcores are also possible, although you will find delays when entering the city, depending on map size. (I use the complete Europe map (2,5 GB))
I upgraded to bootloader 5.5128 and use a 4GB SDHC card, but 8GB and 16 GB cards do work also.
Before you start soldering you could also first test the navcore + small map to see if you like it. Since I live in the Netherlands, I often use the Benelux map (+/- 100MB) to try things. this will always fit on the internal flash, even if its 512MB.

Good luck!

All the US maps with IQ Routes and ALG are at least 1.5Gb. The One V.3 only has 1GB memory. I have to get the soldering iron out.

1. Good Luck.
2. I hope that this is a recent decision, & not something you had in mind with your 1st post!!
3. Nope. All that is required is a map that has IQ Routes & a compatible Navcore.

1. Correct.
2. Correct.

No, I don't think TT would smile on my trying to DL an IQroute and ALG map for my ONE v.3 from their site. This may have something to do with why their stock closed at 3.12EUR today.

Maybe I misunderstood your post. What did you mean when you said, "I hope that this is a recent decision, & not something you had in mind with your 1st post!!"

None of your posts in the Navcore 9.401 Fan Edition, works on 32mb models too mentioned any interest in IQ & ALG. Our replies were posted without consideration of these features. If you knew at that time that you were interested in them, then we would have posted different replies, saving all of us a little time & effort. If adding memory to use a larger map was an afterthought, then no harm done.

My apologies. I am, somewhat, a mad scientist. If my posts seem unstructured, that's because that is how my brain works.
