TT One hangs on asking Language

Postby kootjekluit » Sun Mar 27, 2016 3:43 pm

Hi there,
Wanted t upgrade my TTOne 3rd edition 1GB with bootloader 5.5022 en NC 9510 with the latest Western US and Canada map 965.7280
First I've made a backup
Then I've tried to upgrade it but after a 15sec reset the displaytext said "You can't use this map on this device".
Then I've copied the back up back to the TT but after starting up it hangs on asking language. When I touch the display it asks "Selecting African?". Then it stops untill I use the reset button.
Stange but when I open the backup ttgo.bif file I see:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v6)
DeviceSerialNumber=xxxxxxxx
DeviceUniqueID=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
RamDiskVersion=20130404
BootLoaderVersion=55022
LinuxVersion=547200
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.2
UserLanguage=Nederlands

When I connect the TT back on my computer I see in the ttgo.bif file:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v6)
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=xxxxx
RamDiskVersion=20130404
BootLoaderVersion=0
LinuxVersion=547200
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.2
UserLanguage=Afrikaans

So no device serial number and bootloader=0
Who can help me with this?
Thanks in advance!!

I think you should try TomTom's clear flash tool a couple of times to get past that setting.
Also make sure the file settings.dat or mapsettings.dat are not read-only.

Thanks Razorblatter,

I've executed TT clear flash tools three times.
Checked the files you mentioned, only settings.dat is available. This is not a read only file.

Can I simply copy my backup now back to the TT and restart after a 15sec reset?

Yes, you can do that.

You can also choose to NOT copy the old map but test a small recent map like Benelux. That can save some time.
Check the TT disc from within Windows to see if there are no issues.

Clear flash does not remove files. It clears the memory. If you executed it a couple of times, it should be okay.
Right click drive in Windows, properties and look for drive errors.

Hi there,
Checked my TT as you mentioned, found a few problems
Started my TT after a 15 sec reset. Same problem.

I thought maybe the ttgo.bif and system file where the problem so I've copied them again from my back up and overwrote them.
Then I used Clear flash tools three times again.
Then a 15 sec reset. Still the same problem :-(

Am I doing something wrong or do you have other options to try

Thanks in advance

Okay, I found something which helped me some time ago.
Connect the device to Tomtom Home and choose Operate my Device.
See if you can startup, setup and maybe plan a route.

After that disconnect and power up your TT and see if the problem has corrected itself.

I installed TThome and Operated my device. Had to set the language, time etc. That works fine but then the display said "You can't use this map on this device Western USA_and Canada"..... looks like the map isn't patched?

After disconnecting the same problem as before occurs

Well I think I'm missing something all the time ;-)
Tried to update with fast Tool Lite directly on my TT but the screen of FTL says: there is no such key(Western US and Canada 100309.meta) in keyfile meta.txt

Well... As we all know we do NEED a meta code. Otherwise it only wastes storage on everything. And everybody's time...

Are you not aware of the holy trinity of navcore, map and meta code? The man in black shaped as FastActivate is also good company for your TT.

Get in touch with the basics.

1. How can I patch TTH?
2. And I checked my ttgo.bif. Bootloader is now 10012, NC 9510

1. Your TTHome "Operate my device" is not patched. Download this pre-patched folder
[Please Register or Login to download file]
& copy it here:
With XP
C:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions\

With Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions\

2. You still have 5.5022
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.
