Hi All,

I have a TT ONE New Edition, it calls itself in HOME, and have been updating it through these pages. It now has 8.010 Navcore and UK & Ireland 870.3419. When I connect to HOME I get the following message:

"Error when contacting server: you have an invalid version of the Tom Tom application installed on you Tom Tom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version."

It then give me a long list of 'STUFF' (see bottom)

Once I cancel the warning, HOME seems to work OK for map corrections and satellite data, but it may well not be doing anything for the core software?

If I try to "Operate my One" It tells me "Problem with Map. You cannot use this map on this device: United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland"

The TT Works fine in the car so these are just niggles really. However, I have obviously done something wrong in the installation/compatibility areas. Any ideas how to revert to content that TT are happy is compatible? Many thanks.

To fix version error.
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183
Save this change by clicking "File" in the upper left corner of windows explorer, then "Save as" ttgo.bak. Now there is only a ttgo.bak file in the root, no ttgo.bif.
Disconnect & reboot. Now you will have a ttgo.bak, a ttgo.bif & a ttgo.ori file in the root.
The version error message should be gone, & "Operate my device" should function.

Thanks for the reply. However, when I do that a new ttgo.bif is produced with the same info:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369

I have a .BAK, a .BIF but no sign of a .ORI and still the same responses from HOME, I'm afraid.

Please copy and paste the contents of both the bif & bak files minus the serial # & Unique ID.

You state that you have 870.3419.

Confirm that you disconneted you unit from your computed. Shut it down & did a cold reboot

My fault, I've confused you. It is 865.3259. The other is in my Son's TT:o

It has been booted more than once, and I even left the changed .BIF as .BIF one time and it overwrote it with 8.010 again.

A new .bif is created each time you boot up. You can't change it. That is the purpose of the .bak file.

Plan B. Download this version.txt file & copy it to the root. Delete the .bak file. Disconnect & reboot.

Sorry, no change. The ttgo.bif file still has the 8.010 info.
