No "over the speed" warning [Solved]

Tue Sep 16, 2014 2:02 pm

Hi,

I have TomTom XXL540 and would like to know whether TomTom provides a warning sound or voice to let you know if "Your over the speed limit". The only indication I have on my device to let me know if I'm going faster than the designated road speed is a red coloured speed sign until I come down with 5 kph of the designated speed sign.

Is there any function or text script available to provide a verbal warning as opposed to no warning except for change in colour?

Thanks in advance

In safety preferences, warn when travelling faster than allowed (may not be worded exactly like that)

Then you can choose from several default sounds or any user sounds you have installed.

There are 26 default sounds to pick from.

Hi Fatboyfun and tendriver,

Thanks for that information.

How do I get into the "Safety Preferences" to select a sound? That's one thing I've never done before.

How do I go about getting that to work, that is, selecting the sound? Is it straight forward or bit tricky?

Thanks in advance

1. Main Menu, Change Preferences, Safety preferences, check "Warn when driving faster than allowed", Done, select the desired sound in "Warning sound above speed limit", DONE!!
2. As straight forward as you can get.

tendriver,

Thanks for that, I must have a brain away day , after I posted, I found the my brain seemed a bit rusty the other day. I did manage to locate that "Change Preferences" and "Safety Preferences", as you said, very simple to do.

I reckon this topic can be closed.
