There is no such thing as a "patched version of tom tom home". If you are referring to TT Home "Operate my device", then it has to be patched for your current navcore. Most of the patchers can do that.

so with other features of tt home work without it being patched, and it is just operate my device you need to patch for

If you decide to patch TT Home for the OMD feature, which navcore will you be using?

no im not mine is patched.Its just i updated one for a friend who isn't that computer savey and all he wants is map share updates.So i was thinking if there was a patched version it would be simple for him, as i understand it now though he would still get those even if not patched he would just not have OMD

exactly...

but if you update the navcore of your friends GPS, when you'll try to do the mapshare updates using TT HOME,

you might receive a error message from TTHOME because, it will say that the navcore is incorrect and bla bla bla,,,

if that happens, there's a super easy fix to that issue... no big deal :)

yes i know is that creating the bak file. didnt want to do that cause it would then offer update his software and roll it back to the original one and knowing him he would let it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok can you explain please, i know when i did my own unit and did the bak file to stop getting the error messgae it offered to update the units software but it was an older version??i

sorted now thanks it offered loads of updates but no software up date so thats great
