POI editor - is there one?

Mon May 02, 2011 6:37 am

Hi

Is there an external POI editor, that you can set the sounds to?

When doing it in the TT interface, you have top keep going back and forth, and I was thinking surely some bright person has made a program to do it outside of TT.

I upgraded by TT v1 but now have no sounds for the seed cams, I had before voice spoken warnings.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Dunston,

You don't need a POI Editor to add custom sound to POIs. A very simple way is by using .ogg sound files.

You can record your own sound, save it in, or convert it to, .ogg format with the same file name as the POI file (xxx.ov2) you want to associate it with, as xxx.ogg. If you cannot save it as .ogg then save it as .wav and convert it. There are many sound/media programs that will convert from .wav to .ogg - I use Media Monkey.

Put the file in the folder with the matching .ov2 and .bmp files. By default, if the file names match exactly (other than the file extn), TT will use the custom sound. This is what I use for speed and redlight camera warnings and it works very very well.

Thank you very much. I realised the .ogg files were sound files for the speedcams that i already had on my TT, it was for the other POI like bridges and self made pois, but I now know what I should do thanks to your informative reply.
