I've noticed that some POI locations on the map are not in the correct place or some are not on the map at all. Can I edit or add a location with the correct coordinates so that it appears correctly? I can't seem to be able to find that preference on my GO720. How would I do that? Thanks.

Main Menu, page 2 Map corrections, Correct a map error, page 2 Edit POI and/or Add missing POI.

OR

Main Menu, Change preferences, page 3 Manage POIs, Add POI and/or EditPOI.

I went there this morning but all it seems to let me do is edit the name. How do I change the location?

POIeditor.com worked like a charm. You just have to get the correct coordinates which is not the easiest thing to do. Using Google to search for a coordinates program gives you different numbers from each one you try. I'm going to search GPS coordinates on my iGO POIs and see if those numbers are better.

1. Did you even try the steps in post 5??
2. Coordinates are not required in post 5. It is all done on the device.
3. I can make changes & be done, while you are still looking for coordinates. If you must use coordinates, look at Google Map or Google Earth, Yahoo Map & Bing Map. TT uses this format NXX(degree symbol)XX.XXX' & WXX(degree symbol)XX.XXX'.
4. But then, to each his own!!! LOL

1. Of course I tried doing the change your way first. I was sitting at my computer when I tried it and all I got was a message saying "looking for a GPS signal." Perhaps I should try it again outdoors after I get a satellite lock?

3. I'd rather do it the way you suggest. That's why I asked for your advice.

It should only complain about the signal if you still have a planned route in the device.
But, yes it is always best to get a sat lock first as it TT's are a bit stubborn without one

UPDATE today: I went outside in my car and got a satellite lock. Then proceeded with post #5. All was fine until I went to find the POI. It came back with "no POI found." Huh? It's there. The only possible thing I can think of is that it's an ov2 file and .bmp file that I put into the map folder so the program doesn't really see it as a category, so I can't change [edit] what isn't seen. Should I put the files in another place? FYI, I talking about Burger King. The map is showing a Burger King where there isn't one. So I'm trying to edit out.

Note the Burger King location on your 720. Open your Burger King ov2 file with PoiEdit. Find the BK in question & delete it.
