Hi all I have been trying to instal the truck maps and navcores to my tomtom go 710 for the last few hours with no success.
Everytime I put in a 4gb card I get the card coming out and red cross animation on the unit. After searching a few forums I now believe that the go 710 cannot read SDHC cards only SD
Is there a version of the truck maps and navcore that will fot on a 2gb card (I have looked in the truck maps forum but couldnt find one) or is there a way I could reduce the size of the truck maps. I only really need the Uk map so can the rest of Europe be removed somehow.
Any help would be appreciated

Reading the SDHC cards is a navcore function, not a device function. All navcores, 8.300 with Bootloader 5.5015 and higher, will read SDHC cards.

Ok thanks thats a relief, probally will get flamed for this but is the booktloader part of the navcore or something completely separate

Ok thought it was something simple I just swapped the system file to 5.5122 on both the 4gb SD cards but still get the same card coming out and red cross animation.
Any ideas

It is a navcore file named "system".

Yep. You must update the bootloader before you can load the SDHC card. Put the 5.5122 bootloader on your 2gb card, then reboot your 710. Now you can use the SDHC cards.

Success didnt realise the system file kind of "flashes" the tom tom reading the card lovely now thanks for all the help
