Possible Navcore 9.702 bug ?

Postby navitdavid » Mon May 23, 2016 3:45 pm

Hi,

I would like to ask you guys about a possible bug in the 9.702 truck navcore. If any of you guys have a new TT with 16+ truck navcore on it, please try this to solve this bug:

The problem is that, the TT in truck mode does not take me through the first weight limit sign, like
" 7.5 T - Except loading " it should.

If you have to deliver within the restricted zone you have to enter it, otherwise no way to get there. There are restrictions where you can NOT go, like weak bridges, or too narrow streets. But if just a traffic claimed area, you can drive to your destination.
But, 9.702 navcore routes me through small streets, if there is no restriction.
See an example.

Vehicle: 40T truck
Starting from: N45.9539, E8.9654
Destination: N45.9834, E8.8418
On route you have to enter a 34T restricted zone, the sign is at: N45.9969, E8.8993
Limited Street View to the sign is available : [Please Register or Login to download file]
You must go through there, because the other end of this restricted zone is at the Swiss-Italian border.(you can not use that)

It should take through the main road, through the 34T sign. But it takes to narrow side streets.

How weight limits work? See the following picture. If you have to deliver to the green area, than you can enter to it in any possible direction from. But if you delivery point is not in the green area, you should not enter into it.

The problem with the navcore I suspect is that, it can not make the difference between a "Weak bridge" you should not cross it, but if the weight limit says "Except loading" in that case you can cross it once(!) because if you need to cross it just once to get to the destination that means this restrictions is not apply to you.

Other weight limit areas has the same problem on the same device, so I would say it is a navcore error, because where the weight limit is marked on the map it is there in the reality.

Here is the same route: copy - paste it, because I can not link it other way:

map.project-osrm.org/?z=17&center=45.997103%2C8.905106&loc=45.953939%2C8.965359&loc=45.997923%2C8.905910&loc=45.995143%2C8.903732&loc=45.983365%2C8.841763&hl=en&alt=0

Could you guys use the "Prepare route" on a after Sept. 2010 truck model, add my start and ending point, and see how it goes on that.

PS: iGO Primo Truck took me through the main road, through the 34T sign, so that knows the right route.

It is confirmed: All devices with 9.702 navcore are FAULTY in truck, bus, van etc. mode!It can not make the difference between a 'Weak bridge'(you must NOT enter,no exceptions) or a traffic claimed area '7.5 T Except loading' or '7.5 T Except access' where you can enter for delivering goods, or for access(eg. shopping)
I got a screenshot from a new genuine TomTom Truck 6000 running on the same 9.65 Truck map, same vehicle sizes. The outcome is different:

Wrong route on GO 730 + Navcore 9.702

This is NOT the only error in the 9.702 navcore, there are bunch of others. If you try to set any destination to a 7.5T area it will come back with the error msg of: 'NO TRUCK ROUTE POSSIBLE' it will ask you do you want to prepare a car route.Restrictions with exceptions allows some trucks to enter.

Here are the official meanings of these signs:

UPDATE:

My suggestion is that, the maps have to be same like on the new Truck 6000 etc models with new Navcore.
I can see the difference on the map between the '7.5T Except loading' and '7.5T Weak bridge'. Even with the wrong Navcore 9.702 it should come out as ' No truck route found', but some occasions(if there is 'Unsuitable roads for trucks') it comes out there is a route.
The Navcore 9.702 treats 'Unsuitable roads for trucks' as 'Unsuitable roads for trucks-EXCEPT LOADING' which is wrong. There is no such thing. But the '7.5T Except loading' became only '7.5T Weak bridge'.

It have to be possible to edit the restrictions classification in the Navcore. Restrictions in the map should contain a classification code.
For example:
-Code1: you can not cross it.
-Code2: you can cross it once within a restricted area(this means you can enter, but you will not drive through it, like the 'Except loading' restriction is about)

On the current Navcores 9.701 and 9.702 these two values are swapped. So all restrictions on the maps are the opposite how it should be(can just once or can not cross it).
I read that here are the best people working to solve the problems on the TT. I am not an expert, I know nothing about programming languages, but I think for an expert it is not a big deal to find the two above mentioned values and swap them.

If you check the map on an another route, it is clearly marked that the 'Via Molinazzo' is marked pink, as unsuitble on the Go 730 too. But the 34T restriction is 'stronger' and it takes you everywhere, just not through the 34T sign. Clearly shows that the error is in the Navcore 9.702, not in the map.

You draw the wrong route. That is not what I planned. You can see the right route on the new Truck 6000.

Use this, than zoom in

Vehicle: 40T truck
Starting from: N45.9539, E8.9654
Destination: N45.9834, E8.8418

Another error:

Vehicle: 40T truck
Start point: 51.5467, -2.5679
Destination: 51.594, -2.5283

"No truck route found' error, and offer to plan a car instead.

There is a '7.5T Except for access' restriction. You can drive through for deliveries too.

Another error, but this possible in the map, just make you guys aware of it.

Arch bridge error on maps:
Arch bridges lowest heights are marked on TomTom maps.If a bridge has two marking, and you could pass under the middle of it, TomTom won't divert you through it.All arch bridges with two height markings has the lowest used in TomTom maps

Image

In this example, the bridge is 3.2m on the side, and 4.4m on the middle. You have to give way to oncoming traffic, than you can move to the middle, and pass with a vehicle has less than 4.4m height. But TomTom won't take you there if you are 3.2m or higher.
