Problem RDS Cable not working

I have a problem with my RDS cable not working on my TT 920T. It was ok working well, now the side bar is not there at all. How can I tell if this is a hardware or software problem,

What navcore & map?

I think the version is 8.351, using the latest UK and Irland IQ map version 850.2781

Have you tried a hard reset on the device ?

Yes, a couple of times but no joy any help you can give will be much appreciated.
