I've uploaded my copy for you which is from a different source and activated fine on my TT:

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to upload the map, I've downloaded it and done a fresh install but still the same result . . . dct error.

I'm really at a loss with this, I'm pretty sure it's not something I'm doing wrong as I can put other maps on with no problems.

I think It has to be something to do with the meta.

Thanks.

You're welcome...btw, you can thank members by clicking the thumbs up button next to the quote button

Ok, try this:

1. Extract the map archive I uploaded to your desktop
2. Put a copy of ttgo.bif from your devices root into that new map folder on your desktop
3. Download A_F_Activate from Biggerdave's plan z link above...extract it into that same folder (you should have all you need in the same folder...the map/ttgo.bif/A_F_Activate.exe)
4. Now run A_F_Activate.exe from there and select option 2 to activate the map

What is the result?

5. Assuming it activated...move that whole folder to your device

.
.

. . BINGO . .

The A_F_Activate patched the 1015.9104 map first go :023: I just ran it from the desktop with the TT connected with the USB cable on G drive.

I tried it with fredderf's map and it worked, then I tried it with the version of the map I had and it worked, so the map I had was ok and not corrupt or anything. (I just like to rule things out)

I've got a few versions of FA some pretty old where you have to adjust the main date on your computer to get them to work and I have tried them all, not one of them will work with the 1015.9104 map, well not in my house on my two computers.

So that's a result and a good lesson learned, best to try a different activator which in this case could have saved us a lot of head scratching.

Thank you all very much for the help and advice, it's appreciated :023:

Good news (finally!)

NOW do a full Windows backup (and dump all but that proven-to-work Alt_F_A)

I'll still keep hold of FA but I'll also make sure to try the A_F_Activate in future if I have any problems.

Cheers for all of the help, I hope this thread helps someone else that has the same problem. :023:

Cheers.

You'll also notice the Alt_F_A includes a couple of new options; #7 (add latest postcodes) and #10 (add latest speedcams) too

Yes I noticed that, but I was happy to have managed to get the map to work so I never messed with anything else.

Now I know it works I'll have a play around with it.

Hooray, I'm glad it worked...although it's still a little weird as it activates fine for me and I'm using the exact same FA & map files?

It's possible that your AV might have had something to do with it but it doesn't matter now.

Anyway, do a full Windows backup as Biggerdave suggests and prepare for the new 1020 maps that'll be out in the next few weeks...

Good job :023:

Hi,
I did think about the Anti Virus software, but I disabled it on both the computers when trying FA, so I assume that would rule that out.

I think I'll just keep the 1015 map for a while, I'll have to build up to installing the 1020 version after this carry on :046:
