Problem updating to 1015.9104 is it just me ?

Hi,
I normally have no problem updating my TT but I'm having problems with the 1015.9104 map so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the map or the meta code, or is it me doing something wrong.

I'm trying to put the 1015.9104 map on my TT one 2nd edition using either NC 9.170SE. or 1a.NC9.510_DSA_For 32Mb_ram_Voice+UK+FR

I found the meta code on the site here - http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?p=169975#p169975
and placed it in the META.TXT folder within FastActivate but when I try to patch the map I just keep getting a dct error.

The compatibility chart shows that it should work ok, so has anyone out there any pointers to what's going wrong?

Wich map your talking about, Rusia, french etc.

Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your device (the root)
viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452

Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 1
After 1 go to the root and rename the file
Updated_meta in
meta
Select 2
Done.

Sorry, the map is UK & ROI

I've followed the tutorial you linked to and done what you said but it still throws up the dct error.


I've tried installing map UK &ROI 995.8507 and I can get it to work ok, it's just the 1015.9104 map that is causing the problem.

Try running F/A.exe from the same place as your map (root of your device/memory?) rather than from your PC as that can help sometimes

Yeah, I tried running FA from the root, same problem.

The problem only seems to be with the 1015.xxxx maps, the 995.8507 worked fine, as have all of the others I have used in the past.

Is there something different or missing that I should be putting into the 1015 maps?

Open up the Updated_meta.txt file (or META.txt) and double check that it has the following meta code inside:

B8 81 3A B5 6F 8A D9 B2 43 43 90 C5 6C 1F 54 E5 United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-101679.meta ; United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 1015_9104

Edit:
It sounds like you've added the meta into the META.txt file yourself...if so you need to format the spacing with the TAB button, not the spacebar otherwise you can have problems with activation.
It might be better to download a fresh FA from the following link...extract and rename the Updated_meta.txt file to META.txt as Holyhead & Biggerdave has already said and try it again...it will activate:

Definitely nothing wrong with the map or the meta fizzer, it activated fine on my TT's. I suspect you're not using an up-to-date meta.txt file as fredderf is suggesting.

Try renaming Updated_meta.txt to meta.txt once you've ensured the meta you need is there

Yes I was entering the meta into the META.TXT file myself, I copied and pasted it from biggerdave's post in the thread I linked to in post #1, it's exactly the same as the one listed in your post so no mistake there.

I've re-extracted FA and tried what you said but it's still not working.

I've tried that but still the same.

I've never had this problem before and I've used FA lots of times, I can normally find the meta for the map (if it's not in the updated meta file) and put it into a file called META.TXT and it works so I don't know what's wrong now.

Weird....Ok, try putting FA and META.txt into the map folder and activating from there

Or maybe as simple as a corrupted map download?

Yes it's weird, it's also driving up the wall

Right, I've just formatted the SD card and done a fresh install with navcore 1a.NC9.510_DSA_For 32Mb_ram_Voice+UK+FR,
put the 1015.9104 UK &ROI map on the card and FA & the meta.txt into the map folder . . . still no go

Have you got a .meta file AND a .meta.dct file in the map folder?
Have you tried an alternative map download?

Hi,
I have a .meta file in the map folder but there's NO .meta dct file.

However the 995.8507 map that I can get working is the same, with no .meta dct file in the map folder but once it's activated and working on the device there is a .meta dct file.


I can't find an alternative source to download the map from, the ones I can find download from the same place as the forum.
