Problem updating favourites on tt truck?

Problem updating favourites on tt truck?

Postby maa1506 » Sat Aug 07, 2010 8:02 pm

I have managed to update the favourites from my old map using djc151084's tutorial which worked a treat on the internal drive which has map 850.2820 with navcore 8.351.
However, on my SD card I have map 845.2649 with navcore 8.369. When I try to use the "Operate my device" feature via Tomtom Home, I receive an error message stating that the feature is not supported on my device.
Any suggestions please?

8.396 is a work navcore & is not supported by TT Home. FWIW, I never use "Operate my device".

Is there any other way of transferring favourites from the old truck map to the new one without using TT Home?

[Please Register or Login to download file]

open MapSettings.cfg and save as new poi file your favorities

Save as "1. favourites.ov2" and you see it first in poi list ;-) copy it map directory

navigate to\point of interest\POI near Home...

This is one way.....I save all my favorites one POI file then it work all device (my opinion that is best way)

Another option is: Copy the mapsettings.cfg file in the old map folder & paste it in the new one.

Yep, either way works with just slightly different results.

Thanks for that, I have opened the MapSettings.cfg file with note pad and then saved it as suggested "1. favourites.ov2" . I have copied this over to the map folder where all the other poi's are saved. However it is not showing up in the poi list when I try and navigate to it. Is there something else I need to do when saving the file? I have also tried running the reactivating the map just in case but still no joy.

Many thanks for all suggetions, very much appreciated. When I tried just copy & pasting the MapSettings.cfg from the old 840.2554 map into the new 845.2469, the system constantly reboots itself.
