Hi.
I've been trying to get United_States_1GB_925_5439 working on my Tomtom XL 30 series. Everytime I start the tomtom is says 'problem with map. you cannot use this map on this device: United_States_1GB'.

I've ran fastactivate on the device and ran the first 3 options, which all worked OK. United_States_1GB.pna, United_States_1GB-881.meta & United_States_1GB-881.meta.dct all exist in the United_States_1GB_925_5439 folder.

What am I doing wrong as it's driving me mad?! Device info from fastactivate says the below. I've tried United_Kingdom_and_republic_of_ireland_925_5439 and that worked fine.

United_States_925_5439 has a meta code & is usable. United_States_1GB_925_5439 does not have a meta code posted & is not usable!!

thanks. So what do I need to do to fix this? Just rename the folder on the device?

1. Use United_States_925_5439 instead of United_States_1GB_925_5439. Both of them are 871MB in size.
2. No, the name of the map folder can be anything & is irrelevant.

It looks like you were able to download the map.
I have spent a lot of time, way too much than the $ Tomotom will charge for the update. I just wanted to see if I could do it. I have not been able to down load anything from the site. It will always take me to Linksave and it will ask me to install all kinds of stuff. Off cause I didn't. I registered but still can't see anything to download.

What map version are you trying to download? What map thread are you trying to download it from? If you are trying to download from 1 of Popeye's threads, did you read the detailed "Download Instructions" in post 1 of "All New Maps 925/926.XXXX" or post 2 of "925/926 Map Collections Only!!".

You do have to be careful what links you click on. Don't download the 'All parts' part, but go for the individual links. Internet Explorer gave me some trouble with the downloads, so used Firefox in the end.

1. True. Big reason for reading the Download Instructions!!
2. Depending on the answers to the post 8 questions, this may not be relevant.
3. The browser used should not be an issue.
