I would like to update my about 5 year's old Tomtom one xl navigation. Device has been updated by tomtom home software , but just free package was installed.
But, I have no idea which map version may I use. Something says me that I must upgrade navcore too, but I can't find my version number. The program for finding elementary description about navigation just found nothing.
Another problem is the memory space. It has only 200 MB free, so I think SD card will be needed (despite the fact only Central Europe is used)
So, could you please give me advices for fixing navcore and maps problems ?
Thanks for you answers.

Downunder35m wrote:You can keep the Navcore and just update the map.
The chart in the map thread will tell you which map works with your 8.017 Navcore, there are versions with an installer available too.
Use FastActivate premium to get it all working - press the first three buttons starting from the left.
interceptor30 wrote:Thanks for that but I cant seem to find the latest map compatible for my navcore? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

interceptor30 wrote:1. Just tried using map for uk-roi v 890.4236 and device says I cannot use this map on the device.
2. The chart doesnt show maps available for my navcore which is 8.017 - could I use any of 890.xxxx maps or only specific maps?
3. Also downloaded the auto installer and patcher but win7 could not create file association for the same map.
tendriver wrote:1. This is the common message when a map is not patched. Look for a .meta.dct file in the 4236 folder.
2. Sure it does. Ever hear of interpolation??
3. Then create association manually.
tendriver wrote:1. Nothing. This just confirms that the map is patched. Did you patch the navcore??
2. What is the exact name of the file?
