Hello !
I would like to update my about 5 year's old Tomtom one xl navigation. Device has been updated by tomtom home software , but just free package was installed.
But, I have no idea which map version may I use. Something says me that I must upgrade navcore too, but I can't find my version number. The program for finding elementary description about navigation just found nothing.
Another problem is the memory space. It has only 200 MB free, so I think SD card will be needed (despite the fact only Central Europe is used)
So, could you please give me advices for fixing navcore and maps problems ?
Thanks for you answers.

A navcore & map update is certainly needed. I'll post a suggestion shortly.

I also have a tomtom one XL with the same configuration as OsamelyVlk247. The only difference is the map i'm using :
CurrentMap=United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
CurrentMapVersion=715.1689
I'd really like to upgrade mine so that I can use a map with Advanced Lane Guidance, even it it's only with the 885 maps for the time being.
I look forward to your suggestion :)

You can keep the Navcore and just update the map.
The chart in the map thread will tell you which map works with your 8.017 Navcore, there are versions with an installer available too.
Use FastActivate premium to get it all working - press the first three buttons starting from the left.

Just tried using map for uk-roi v 890.4236 and device says I cannot use this map on the device. The chart doesnt show maps available for my navcore which is 8.017 - could I use any of 890.xxxx maps or only specific maps?
Also downloaded the auto installer and patcher but win7 could not create file association for the same map.

1. This is the common message when a map is not patched. Look for a .meta.dct file in the 4236 folder.
2. Sure it does. Ever hear of interpolation??
3. Then create association manually.

1. Nothing. This just confirms that the map is patched. Did you patch the navcore??
2. What is the exact name of the file?

Could you please recommend me which navcore and maps update would be the best ?
Are there any limitation thanks to hardware , or may I just get into my XL navcore 9... ?
But, I have read that it is possible to record a navcore and a map on SD card. So, if I record e.g navcore v.9 and up to date maps , will it works ? (and tomtom device stay with old navcore and maps)
Thank you very much for your help !
