program that puts Tomtom on the Navman S Series. No Map foun

Postby Chrisdude » Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:09 pm

Hello all.

I had a feeling it would be possible to convert a Navman to a tomtom. I used the software provided by this superb site and installed everything successfully.
The Navman starts correctly and the tomtom software starts then displays No Maps found.

I downloaded the maps for UK and Ireland and followed the instructions and used the fastactivate as provided, it found the map and updated the Bif and Meta files.

However on boot it displays the same problem. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

One thing, my device is a Navman F45 not an S series but it seems to be fine apart from the map problem.

I've installed Tomtom on a F45 myself...

Which map did you download?

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. Now this is where I may have screwed up, I downloaded the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_880_3810 227mb from the Maps thread. I am very new to this so I am wondering if I did the wrong thing there?

Go here: All New Maps 880.XXXX Check the compatibility chart in post 1. You will see that 3810 maps are not compatible with your device. Use the 3866 or 3868 version.

Dudes, this rocks. Maps and voices all installed.

ONE LASST QUESTION,, then I start handing beers out. GPS settings. This I have never seen before so as I have got so far I just want to make sure I do not screw this last step up.

I have Atheros GPS in the control panel. I can see the suggested NMEA tab but everything is greyed so I am trying to start the Orion GPS navigation and it is downloading the GML firmware. Am I on the right lines here dudes?
