Not sure what version it is as it's a friends (had it about 3 years) but does it support 4gb cards? Had a quick look and I seem to be getting answers that 2gb is the max. Is that right?
If it is 2gb then how would you go about adding the truck maps which are over 2gb in size?
Thanks.

No, you are getting bad info. SDHC large card usage is navcore/bootloader dependent, not device dependent. All navcores/bootloaders newer than 8.300/5.5015 can use the larger cards

Ah, many thanks tendriver (as per usual!). At the moment I have this set up on go 530:-
8.398.go_work.CAB-navcoreGO-WORK.rev1.cab
Europe Truck 860_3122
which works well. Would it work equally as well on the One XL or would there be any complications? Sorry to bug!
Thanks.

I don't know of any.

Now that I've tried this, I've got a problem. On the TT One XL itself there is bootloader 5.3026 and 7.162 navcore but I am using a memory card which is a standard size (not micro) 4gb class 8 card. I loaded the above (8.398.go_work.CAB-navcoreGO-WORK.rev1.cab and Europe Truck 860_3122) onto the card and everything reported as patched okay using FastActivate. However, when I came to pop the card into the unit, it wouldn't or couldn't read it and just came back showing a red cross.
Anybody got any idea where I might be going wrong? Thanks.
ps. When I say patched correctly, I mean the ttsystem, map and cams all reported as okay plus I have used this map on my own unit with success, this is a friends.

You must change your bootloader to 5.5012 or higher
[Please Register or Login to download file] extract .zip file and copy system file root of device
use smallest than 2g card to install it or use internal memory
reboot you device one time then you can use 4gb card

Thanks very much PiEtU, just to clarify one thing. I don't need to specifically use a memory card for this operation do I? I can just copy the file straight to the root of the card by connecting the device to the computer and do it that way only? Forgive my stupidity but I am a little confused with you saying copy it straight to the root and in the next sentence mentioning a memory card to install it. Naturally, I will back it up first.
Thanks.

You can not properly patch this navcore. Install this pre-patched ttsystem file:
Pre-patched ttsystem . Also confirm that you have both a .meta.dct & tmeta.dct file in the map folder.
Yes, you can put the bootloader directly onto the internal memory.

Yes, tendriver, meta and tmeta in the map folder. Given my response before yours, do I still need to update the bootloader on the device with this prepatched ttsytem or will I be okay now? I have patched that navcore 8.398 on my own tt (go 530) and it worked okay?
Thanks.

Yes, a 4GB card requires 5.5015 or newer.

And my final dum question for today. Once the new bootloader is installed, it will create a new BIF file? Will I then need to re-patch the map using the new BIF file or am I okay having done it already using the old BIF?

1. A new .bif file is created
everytime you boot/reboot your device.
2. The patchers only use the UniqueID in the .bif file. That doesn't change, so no need to repatch. Bottom line, once you've patched a map, it never needs repatching, as long as it is used in the device that it was patched for.

Still having problems. Just a recap on what I've tried.
5.5128 bootloader as suggested (on device itself) - checked and confirmed.
8.398 navcore with/without prepatched ttsystem.
860 truck map
4gb class 8 sdhc standard size card/ 4gb class 4 micro sdhc
All patched where necessary with FastActivate, all reports okay.
I was able to enter truck attributes on first boot and few other infos. like warning bell. However, the machine justs resets after a short while.
It seems to be going slowly and then just reboots. Tried also with 8.396 navcore with no success.
It wouldn't be a RAM problem or something would it and the machine just can't cope? I didn't even see a picture of the map.
Looking for suggestions. Thanks :)
