Quick Question - TT Truck onto One XL

Quick Question - TT Truck onto One XL

Postby cieranc » Sat Jan 14, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi all, my latest challenge is to put TT Truck onto a TT One XL.
I've downloaded Navcore 8.395, and am currently downloading the latest map.

Question is, do I put the Navcore on the device and the map on the SD card, or put it all on the SD card and nothing on the device?

Put it all on the SD card. Internal & external can not be used at the same time.

cieranc@,

Hope you aren't disappointed, but the Truck setup does not run very well on 32MB RAM units.

Can't speak for a XL as I had none to test, but the Truck for 32mb I posted works fine.
Bit slow at the start due to the swapfile but after that fluent navigation with computer voices.
Using the Truck map with all features will slow it down, but I'm confident that it leaves more than 7mb of free ram.
You can find the Navcore and the related files here.
I added a version without the old 875 Truck map so you install the Navcore and after that the current Truck map.
To install unpack the archive (passwort: downunder) to the root of device, confirm to overwrite.

Very. Device is painfully slow, took over an hour to get through the pages of the menu alone!
Is there a way of using just the UK+ROI map, rather than the full Europe map?

I'll try Downunder35m's method now :)

1. No. The UK & ROI map doesn't have the Truck attributes.

2. Downunder & I would appreciate your feedback.

I only tested my 32mb Truck version on a ONE V4, so it would be best to start just with the Navcore (no map) to see if it starts correctly on your device.
If you get an error for the missing map it might work on an XL as well.
In case it does work, add the Truck map and activate it, the NC is already patched.
Keep in mind to deaktivate the POI's so that they don't show on the map otherwise you will get problems.
Only if all works with a long route selected and you still have over 7mb of ram free you can try the computer voices as well.
If you prefer performance stick to the recorded voices.

You will find that the lower quality Vocaliser TTS computor voices run better on these than the Loquendo TTS voices

That's a surprise. I thought that was exactly why people needed to use the Vocaliser version on 32Mb devices

There are a lot of surprises to be found @ Navitotal!!

Downunder's 8.398 isn't a normal SE mod.

I know. All my full SE truck dumps here http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?5464-Current-SE-8.398-TRUCK-WORK-navcores-for-other-devices are built around d/u's SE 8.398's

Could the problem be that your dumps are too bloated with junk.

Well, it's all installed properly and working.
The car symbols are there in the menu, though I've stuck with the standard.
Happy with the standard voices so havn't added the TTS.
Did a couple of test routes with different sized vehicles and in each case it's routed properly around known obsticles.
Between 5 and 8meg spare in the Show Version details.

So I've handed it back to Mally for the real world test!
So far so good, thanks gents!
