Ram/Eco Routes - Limited Ram

Thu Jun 24, 2010 1:08 pm

Can anyone give some advice please.

I have just updated my Tomtom One XL to have the 850.2781 UK & ROI map and also Navcore.9.101.516023.

The problem i am having is when i try to navigate to a location using ECo route it goes half way through then stops and says that i cannot do it. if i try shortest route it works. it also works sometimes on a very short Eco route. Looking at the ram i have available it is giving me about 2 -2.5mb free when running normally. i never had this problem before, is it the map or the navcore, or am i doing something wrong.

I have been suggested to use X40light in the config files, can anyone point me in the right direction please.

if anyone can give some guidance, i would be grateful.

Many thanks

well, using an un-official Navcore can produce weird results too,,,

and you dont have a strong hardware here,,,
# 32 MB RAM
# CPU 266 MHz

now i dont know where you got your navcore but i hope it was a SE basicpack,,,
those are built for 32MB devices....
maybe triple check that :P

Hi Eskro, thanks for the fast response. any suggestion which navcore to use. i see there are a few here based on different devices. i am currently running 9.101, not sure if it thee basic pack or not. can you tell me which i should use please, and can i just remove my existing and put the new one on the device. also, any ideas on the x40light bit?

many thanks for the help

start from scratch...

make a full backup of your device, follow my tutorial to do so --> Here!

then delete everything on your GPS except your MAP folder

download this SE basicpack --> [Please Register or Login to download file]

extract content to your GPS

disconnect from PC & reboot

This is not recommended. Copying a new navcore over the old & overwriting common files is preferred.
