Tryied on Carminat 8.843 and did not work. So i read that the file has to be on TX02 file format of mctx.dat ... how can this be done and what should I do?
I would be forever thankful for any help...
Regards.
I believe there is an internal limit for the number of RDS-TMC services that can be used by TomTom navcore - once the limit has been hit, the rest gets ignored. Because the one for Portugal is near the end of the file it might be discarded. Can you please try the following mctx.dat instead? It only has TrafficNav for Portugal enabled.
The Carminat navcore should still be able to accept the TX01 format.

I believe the TX02 format used by in-dash embedded TomTom Navcores is different to the TX01.
TX01 = 4 byte header with 8 byte records.
TX02 = 4 byte header with possibly 5 or 10 byte records.

No that's wrong - TX02 is mostly the same as TX01 (5-byte records that must be aligned to 8-byte boundary using 0xFE as padding byte due to encryption algorithm), the only difference is that TX02 adds 1 extra byte at the start (0xfe) and an extra byte at the end (checksum).
I managed to create a TX02 - can't test if its valid because I don't have a Carminat but @D_Saint, see if this works. Only TrafficNav for Portugal is enabled.
[Please Register or Login to download file] Also, I double-checked, although the Carminat has the logic to read TX01 mctx.dat files, the main executable "ttn" always starts the "rdstmcserver" in Marigot only mode which means it will only accept TX02.

Ha... ha... shows how much I know
I have heard about the Marigot format but didn't know exactly what that entailed.
That's why we have guys like you

Hi...
I am afraid it did not work
. Green light on top right corner did not get full green, still searching all the time.
Should I be in "trip mode" on carminat, travelling from a to b? I did not try that, simply was waiting that the mentioned light turn green...
The only picture it shows is a car with an curved arrow changing size.

I've just returned from a 3,000 mile drive from the UK to Spain, Andorra and France... the mctx file created by roflmonster worked perfectly.
I never lost traffic reception for the whole time and the traffic information was absolutely spot on... as good as any other system.
Thank you

I forgot to ask...
Is there any update regarding this subject?
I would like very much to see it working on my carminat.
Just downloaded 1035 maps for 8.843 engine.
THx.

Hello all, is it working in 2021? I am eager to test. Would someone reupload the mctx.dat file please?

As requested, here's a link to the "super" mctx.dat file for various legacy models of TomToms.
I've added a "Read me!" text file which contains the original post detailing the RDS-TMC providers included in the mctx.dat.
All credit goes to roflmonster for kindly creating and sharing this “super” mctx.dat file.
Enjoy
