rebooting problems on go 500

Postby combat goofwing » Sun Oct 03, 2010 8:08 am

upgraded a go500 with the patched 8414 navcore from here and 855.2884 uk maps
i extracted all files to device SD card and overwritten where needed, the maps and voices patched fine etc
but when i switched the device on it just sticks on the tt boot up screen with hands picture on.
so i tried it by removing everything from the sd card and installing the new navcore from scratch, again everything patched ok but had the same boot up problem,so i copied the original back back onto the SD card and it booted up fine.
could the bootloader be the issue

before the upgrade the device was running the following software
APP5.410 5628
GPS1.21
BOOTLOADER3.30
MAPGB V605

Every navcore has a bootloader in it. It is a file named "system".

Look in your ttgo.bif file or in your device's Main Menu to see if the b/l has been upgraded.

just copy it your root directory and reboot device, 5.5022 is good for go 500

EDIT: i think you need 5.5128 for navcore 8414 but dont do nothing before djc or tendriver confirm that....

HI
To get the 5.5128 bootloader you have to download 8.417 navcore (original one) and copy only the "SYSTEM" from there to your SD card.
You need to do a soft reset after.

Download & unzip pietu's .rar. Rename "system - Bootloader 5.5128 (OneXL) Original" to "system" without the quotes. Copy it to the root of your card & reboot.
