Red X on TomTom One XL

Postby JantsoP » Sat Jul 22, 2017 6:46 am

Hello All.

I've been trying to fix my TomTom XL for a week now and nothing seem to work.
I have no backup of the device and I've formated the drive now three times. Been in contact with TomTom support and nothing seem to work.
Tried downloading different NavCores and no luck. Even TomTom Home cannot identify the GPS anymore. Is there anything i could try to get it to load and/or identify on TomTom home? I've also tried their home images.zip file but that did not work at all.

It's sounds like it might be kaput but the only thing you can try is to reinstall the software as per TomTom instructions [Please Register or Login to download file]

If you can,t reach the XL with your computer (explorer) then it is end of life. Has the XL an SD slot ?

No. But the computer can see the navigator no problem. So i can access it via Explorer but TomTom Home does not see the device.

You need to use original [Please Register or Login to download file] [if you use Windows PC] , download it, start it, connect device via microUSB cable to PC, let TomTom Home see it, register accout [if you haven't] on any [even 10minutesmail.com] email address and link device, so follow the steps indicated on TomTom Home application window ... all be fine.

first check your bootloader
Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)
Enter a device reset 15 sec.
Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.

Then I think it is the end of the device.
It seems that something is wrong with the bootloader.
You can try another bootloader and if you are lucky you got the XL working again.
Download the file and read the instruction carefully.

After downgrading to 0.0001 you can try if you can make connections via Home. If that is not possible upgrade to 5.5138
