Hi I purchased from ebay a european maps sd card for my 2010 Renault megane which has the non live tomtom carminat.It registered my cars details but shows no maps .
I have checked the card and the new sd card has registered my vehicles id and device code the same as my original uk card. The seller ,unfortunately he is from Germany, so communication is difficult, assures me that the card was new and unused. There are maps on the card but the car says no maps found .
Can anyone help please .

You got to patch the Navcore using FastActivate.
You might have to get the orginal install software to get it patched but, for the moment, I assume you know where to get this.

No worries, if your appl. is 8.842 then you will succeed in activating the Europe map.

Hello again, I am struggling with this. I assume that I can omit downloading the maps as they are already on the card. ? The fast activate does not find the ttgo.bif file. I am wondering if I am creating it properly. If I just create the file first I cannot seem to write to the file.So Ive done it with a text file then renamed it. How is it done ?

I tried that following the link but as I said I couldn't get fast activate to find it. Do I need to do the maps bit ? Cheers

How are you writing to the file?
Just make new file using noteblock, fill in the indicated info and save as...

Only if you carefully and meticulously walk through the steps you will succeed.

Cheers I will try again. Re the maps. But. I already have a genuine tomtom sd card with Europe maps that was new. It show no maps found but they are on the sd card so I presume they just need activating. I take it that these maps can be used and I don't need to download any others as per the tutorials . Yes, downloading in that case should not be necessary. Genuine in what sense? You copied it from another Carminat system?
In that case you would have a Europe.dct file but your Carminat system would reject this 'validation file'.
So you gotta patch the map.
Make sure if FastActivate says that the map is succesfully patched! Otherwise update the meta file.

No need telling you that ttgo.bif should be in root of sd card, right?

If it fails, try deleting the contents of the loopdir map.

No map found always will give you because you don't have the right version map for your device
