Sat Jul 02, 2011 11:57 pm

Hi I have a GO 910 HDD which needs a replacement, but I heard about an SD to HDD converter? How are these called, and can I get these on ebay, sorry
I tried searching the forum, but everyone is talking about them but noone really gives a link or the correct name, cant find much on ebay either.

;) And will they fit, I mean some are quite big what i've seen on ebay
IDE to SD or something?

You can use a an adaptor for the use of CF memory cards instead of a HDD.
Just type "cf hdd adaptor" into Ebay and you'll find heaps of them for a few bucks.
Other option is to replace the HDD with a new one, on Ebay you can get them up to 80GB but I think only the 60GB will fit without modifications.

Be aware that not all Navcores will work properly if a CF card is used, the DSA tool has a special option to add support for CF cards to other Navcores.

I might be mistaken, but I'm sure I've been told that the ribbon cable connector to the 510/710's SDHC card reader is common to the 910's HDD connector. That being so, with slight modification to the casing (which the CF option would also require unless you are going to make it non-removable) cannibalizing an old 510 also provides an alternative to replacing the HDD. Having changed a HDD on one last year, I am still undecided about whether it was worth the effort ... !

Apart from the fact that it is no longer available it should work.
There more models [Please Register or Login to download file] .
Any Zif drive should work, but check the dimensons carefully with your device to make sure it will fit in.
