restarting problem after using AutoActivate.exe 1.8.8

Thu Jan 05, 2012 3:12 pm

I got TOMTOM GO 720 that keeps restarting, it was working normally untill, file autoactivate.exe 1.8.8 version was used on that TOMTOM in main root. After this, GPS starts up normally bar goes to the end and then it restarts, and it does that all over in a loop.

I have tried to do updates but TOMTOM HOME is not seeing any updates.

I don't have any backup files.

I do not know the navcore version.

At this moment i'm trying to revive gps to working order.

After connecting to pc i have access to files, but settings.dat in main root cannot be copied. (it says its corrupted).

Any one have ide what should i do first with it ?

You must have a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file on the card also. I usually put the patcher on the card, just to be sure the map gets patched.

I do not have that file.

So is there any way to ger system up and running ?

I was thinking that maybe reflashing navman will sort it out.
or correctly unlocking that europe map will help it.

Put a navcore & map on the internal memory. Disconnect the unit & boot it. It won't completely boot, but it should create a ttgo.bif.

DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
DeviceSerialNumber=Removed
DeviceUniqueID=Removed

Ok, copy this ttgo.bif to the SD and run FastActivate again to activate the map.
Make sure the map files are in a folder with no special characters or spaces in the folder name.
Also don't use a subfolder.
To check if the map was activated look for a file with the ending .dct and the name of the map.
Insert SD and boot the TT, now you should see the new map and be able to select it.
