Returning TT XL 350TM to original

Postby tomtomrahl » Sun Sep 13, 2015 3:51 pm

Is there any way to know what the original navcore and map versions were on the above unit? I need to return it to factory.

Have used FastActivate on it previously. Current versions:

Install my rescue bootloader, delete all from the device (after a backbup) and let Home update it until it no longer offers updates.
Apart from the map it will then be factory default.
If you still have a genuine map add the map folder from the backup after Home is done updating.

I do think I have an original map. We'll have to hunt it down on a backup drive though. Thanks.

So, I just copy the system file to the device and reboot???? Or how do I do this?

That's it, the rest will be "fixed" with Home.

Original navcore was 9.101, current official navcore is 9.510, which you have. No need to change it.
Don't you have lifetime USA, Canada, and Mexico maps? If so, the easiest way to do this would be to un-patch 9.510 & update the map, with TT Home, to the current version. Then sent it back officially current.

Yeah, I was given this one over a year ago. I wanted updated maps so I installed a patched navcore and latest maps. Then the person that had it originally found the box the other day. It includes the lifetime maps code. I tried to use it and I get an error that it's a valid code but isn't supported by my device or the device's software. So I wanted to return to original. I have original map and the factory 9.510 app on it now and it's still getting that error. So I contacted support to see what they could come up with.

It would have been nice if your post 7 details had been in post 1!!!
Before we go any further, I have 2 questions.
1. Why are you returning this unit to the factory??
2. Are you aware that the lifetime map program only allows you to update to newer editions of the USA, C & M map????

All the detail that was needed was how to get back to factory settings.
1. I'm not sending it back to the factory, just wanted factory settings to apply the lifetime map updates that the previous owner had never activated.
2. Yes I'm aware, I live in the U.S. and don't plan on leaving the country anytime soon.

3. Customer support activated the lifetime updates for my account. And it's ready to upgrade. Thanks for the help.

A. In your opinion maybe, but since you asked for help & I am a help giver, I disagree.
1. OH, really?? I quote from your post 1.
