Safest best way to get Mapshare map corrections on a Patched

What is the best way to connect to get Mapshare corrections to a patched map?
Is it wise to use TT home ? Can TT home see that you have downloaded a map that wasn't paid for?
When I use TT home my email address is shown.

1. Thru TT Home.
2. In 5 years I have never seen or heard of anyone being contacted by TT.
3. Same aswer as point 2.
4. So is mine. Does that tell you anything??

I totally disagree!!! With Map Share set to Strict & no POIs selected, there are 266,208 Map Share corrections in the 915.5074 map that I have installed.

You might want to rethink your "minor update" statement:
TT creates new maps from existing data on their servers.
New roads and changes are submitted by the official authorities for the corresponding country.
However, there will be always errors, missing things and so on - even if it is just thewrong speed limit.
This is where the map-share jumps in.
Corrections made by users can take several years until they finally appear in a new map as really corrected.
TT only includes map-share data as a correction for new maps if:
1. the same error is reported over at least 2 map releases
2. enough user report the same error
To make things worse some errors might only affect a hand ful of users, so the map correction might only be included once TT has inspected the area with a test crew.
For example a new bypass here was planned and before the road actually was built it was already included in the map - but disabled, the road was marked as blocked in both directions.
Once the road was officially opened it was still blocked in the next map release.
Corrected the block only to notice half of the road is in a completed different location than shown on the TT map.
From the day the road was opened until it was fully usable in a new TT map (without making map corrections) 3 map releases had passed....

If map share is really useful is entirely up to the user to decide ;)
But people that spend most of their work time on the roads will confirm they are often a must have item.
