Screen to small to run TOMTOM

Wed Nov 06, 2013 5:50 pm

I have a chinese windows CE device i am trying to install TT on , i have downloaded everything needed to get it to run but get stuck at the first hurdle, i put the cab file onto the storage card, insert storage card to device , double click on the cab file but cant run it as the window is too large and the run button is out of view, can i run it any other way ?
The device does run TT no problem as i have it running on the same device only it's getting old and battered now.
I have tried just transferring it off my old onto the new one with using fastactive but it still wont work . Any ideas ?

I must be missing something here. Why not put the .cab file on your desktop. Unzip it, then put the unzipped files on your card?

Installing cabs on Windows ce devices usually leads to problems as the default install location is not where you would want it.

You can download an already extracted version from here...

Or be smart and don't use TT as IMHO the software is totally outdated and often causes problems right after the successful installation.

Yeah, you will get that if TomTom cannot find a valid map installed.
It's trying to open the internet browser so you can download a free city map, but your device doesn't have an internet browser installed.

In short, check the maps are compatible, activated and in the right place.
