Ok, I just checked the download. Unfortunately this navcore doesn't have a file called "system", so the bootloader can't be updated without it.

I found a download of the X_Navcore.9.205.547817.1.Basicpack from the Latest Navcores thread. This navcore does contain a system file and I'm not sure if this file was accidentally left out of the earlier download link or not.
Perhaps a mod here can verify this, as uploading bootloaders manually is not recommended because you can brick your device!

Is that not for Riders? I'm new to the terminology but the SE ones were what I thought I needed. Do you have any IM software in which I can contact you quicker?

Regards.

PS. I have the TomTom One XL

You may be right, but it may also be for your model.

I have a solution for you. Use one of the older navcores which do contain a "system" file. (You can always install the 9.205 navcore later if you like and won't need to worry about your bootloader again).
Try this navcore:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

from the thread:

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2831-TomTom-Automatic-Navcore-Installation

After extracting the file into your TomTom internal drive, you will have to rename the file system5.5128 to system. Then switch on your device. Only then will your bootloader be uploaded so you can use your SDHC card.
Let us know how it all goes :)

After getting the latest bootloader it is now working with the SD card! I cannot thank you enough for your help.
My final question is... how do I get the postcode lists for other countries in Europe?

Thanks again.

Great to hear! Now you can finally install the large 2GB+ maps onto your SDHC card.
Well done!

Samlighty wrote:Hi,

I have a TomTom One XL which I got working with SE_Navcore.9.205.547817 (32mb device) using 870.3391 maps.
Now I am wanting to add Europe maps and I have downloaded the correct maps. However, I will have to use an SD card to do this. I have a 4GB SDHC card which, from reading around, I have seen will work, but I need the right bootloader.

Can somone point me in the right direction please?

Regards.

I am sorry it took 2 days & 21 posts to get your ONE XL to accept a SDHC card. Had I not been out of town, your problem would have been solved in 2 posts at the most. Bottom line: Glad you finally got it sorted. Enjoy!!
