Home doesn't offer me vocalizer voices only LoquendoTTS which won't work with my daughters 32 model. I did think of that myself.
thanks for your previous help though.
oops don't think that post was mean't for me sorry.

I had another search for the Vocalizers to find some info and here's the result:
Only the CAB files are intended for the PNA models, the rAR files like the UK female voice are modified iPhone voices.
They work on some devices, while they don't on others - could not find a reason for it.
But one thing is in common: you should do a clean install of the Navcore, add the map,
disable all custom sounds and warnings (it is claimed they interfer with the Vocalizer voices and make them silent, especially speed cam warnings),
select a normal recorded voice.
If all works fine, add the Vocalizer folder and after that you should be able to select and use the voice.
If working simulate route to confirm and shut off the TT, this will save all current settings.
Restart and select sounds and warnings one by one, checking each time if the voice is still working.

Sorry, but that was all I could dig out on these custom made Vocalizers.

Downunder35m wrote:If you want to use Vocallizer voices you must delete the LoquendoTTS folder - you can only use either type of voices.
And yes, inside the setconfig.txt TTSOFF must be set.
I had the Karen voice working ages ago to test an australian voice but I can't remember which Nvcore I used - it might have been the 8.562, not sure if they still work with V9 Navcores.

As an addition to Downunder's comments, I qualify mine by saying I have a X20 unit with a SE 9.XXX navcore with nothing pertaining to TTS in the setconfig.txt file. I have both a LoquendoTTS (Dave) & a VocalizerTTS (Samantha) folder in the internal root. Both voices funtion normally. Neither Karen nor Serena function in this configuration. Deleting the LoquendoTTS folder is no help.

So there is no confusion:
ttsoff will deactivate TTS on devices without the TTS function, because the standard is ON.

1. I'm not using a card.
2. I don't do anything different, than anyone else, so a copy of the navcore would not be of any hep to you.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I found information when I was putting together 8.412 for my friend that Serena does not work with navcore 9 and one has to revert to navcore 8.

That is highly unusal, either your screen is faulty or the Navcore is corrupte in some files.
Easiest solution would be to do a clean install of the Navcore on an empty device.
And I've never seen results like the ones you posted - looks like you tried to put 2 Navcores on it.

He has 8562 with a .bak file set for 7903.

kimbo wrote:can some one please tell me when i am doing wrong

To be honest, it appears that what you are doing wrong is tinkering with your TT without knowing what you are doing.

My spec sheets show your navcore should be at least 9.053. Why do you have an 8 navcore installed & .bak filed to 7903????
