*sheepish* hello, and need some help with my tomtom go 630!

hi, i have recently purchased a tom tom go 630 second hand. We've been using it for a while but it's hasn't been updated for years and gets a bit confused in newer areas.
I tried to updated it this evening using the "tomtom home 2" program but i think i cocked it up big time because now it won't even load the (outdated) map i had on there.

I've seen a fair few tutorials around and i'm more than happy to follow them but i'm not sure where to start. Do i wipe the whole thing? I've never used a sat nav before this and it's a bit confusing.

I know my questions will probably seem trivial and facepam-worthy but i would really appreciate any help.

1. Were you trying to update the navcore only or navcore & map?
2. Do not wipe anything. Please run TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} Post the results here.

Good morning. I followed the instructions on here - http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?14168-Universal-Navcore-Installer and now i have nav core installed and also used fast activate to patch it. IIRC I just need to figure out how to put a map on it then it should all work..

Can i still use tomtom home to update things after i've completed this?

FTR i was trying to update the software and map but after updating the software it just didn't recognise the map

1. My Navcore are already patched - you would have noticed after reading the infos provided in the posting.
2. We are working hard on our clairvoyancy but it does not always work perfect, so would you mind posting the necessary details for us?

Thanks for the reply - i did post one explaining what i did but i think it contained a link (from the forum) so it said it is requesting moderation before being posted.

Anyhoo, i did a bit of digging as i got a bit confused with the internal memory and SD card but i think i managed to update everything and it should be working properly now. Apart from actually going somewhere, is there any way of me checking that?

I was more referring to the fact that you did not mention the map....
Simply plan a route and do a simulation ;)

If the ttgo.bif in post 6 is the most current copy, the 2 lines below show that your map is still not patched.
