Have you tried a hard reset followd by The TomTom Clear Flash Tool ??

done both of those things got sound back but for some reason it wont play mp3 but hey not really bothered about that

Make shure there is enouff battery to play music, plug the unit in then try, and also check the "speaker settings" in "Change Prefrences" if this is fine then we will look at other options.

For the MP3's : if you don't have the Jukebox in the menu you can try to check
1. If you have a folder "MP3" ;)
2. If you have a file "mp3d" in the folder "bin"

If you use a SE Navcore the switch "bton" in the setconfig.txt might help.

No sound on my Go700 or really faint. just stopped working properly on a journey
bought as a refurbished unit - using 8.414 with Europe 840.2562

might that hard reset work for me too? this is all new to me
