NO SOUND ON PATCHED ONE XL (Newbi Member)

Postby Cynderyn » Mon Nov 07, 2011 5:42 pm

Hi Forum Members

I have been testing how to patch my Tom Tom One XL to allow me to use most current maps and voices by

1 Loading Nav Cor 9.205.547817.1 onto ext SD
2 Loading UK Map (Auto Install) on to ext SD
3 Loading voices onto onto ext SD
4 Patching map, voices, home app by Fast Activiate Premeium

Run Tom TOM on SD from laptop
Home application OK
Map OK
Voices selection OK sound voices OK

Loaded SD into One XL
All OK except NO sound on voices

Can this be fixed ?

Hi Thanks for replying :)

Voices = Jane (UK) Syliva, Kitt UK, Yoda UK (All patched OK)

All in voices folder off root

If SD is in laptop all voices select and play sound through TomTom Home virtual interface OK

If SD is in one XL all voices select but no sound

However after testing I found if I remove ALL voices and install Jane (UK) and Syliva they both work OK when SD is in laptop and one XL, until I try Kitt

I have not had much experience with TOM hacking but loads with computers hardware software etc

Given that the Kitt sound files are bigger than the others and it works OK if SD is in laptop via home interface it would seem that there is not sufficent free memory to run it when SD is in one XL.

What do you think ?

1. Keep in mind that TT Home "Operate my device" is an emulation/simulation. What it does can't be compared to what the device does or doesn't do.
2. For 32MB units, only 1 or 2 voices are recommended. You have solved your problem.
