I tried it the first time with the 9.160 as I noticed some of my TTS voices are silent and again with the 9.004 I currently use on my device.
I need to log in my account to be able to download TTS voices and as far as I recall this was not the case in "the early days".
But anyway with a correct ttgo.bak present I was offered no TTS voices at all.
That was a bit odd for me and I closed Home and changed the values inside the ttgo.bif to the original values for my device and as I tried again with Home I got TTS voices offered.
Some I downloaded long ago like Kate for example are no longer offered to me at all.
But after several tests I can confirm that (at least for me) several functions in Home only work with correct values of the original Navcore inside the ttgo.bif.
The presence of a ttgo.bak or ttgo.ori with these values did not make a difference for me.
Same problem by the way for my mapshare : Home insisted that my device or map are not compatible with mapshare.
Only after changing the ttgo.bif and re-joining mapshare I was able to get the latest updates.
Quick fix however work like a charm.

That is very strange. I have had ttgo.bak & ttgo.ori files for a long time. Never had any problems with mapshare, TTS downloads or any other TT Home function. Currently I have X-9.205, emu x50, no switchfiles.zip or Outsourced folders.

Exactly!
I never had a problem until my 2.6Home refused to give mapshare.
The Home problems started when they introduced this web based version of Home.
And with the 855 maps the mapshare problem started for me.
It might be something that is really only related to me and my device but I already reinstalled Windows and used several Navcores built from scratch.
Not that I would really care as only quick fix is really of interest to me but I would like to know why the new devices have so much trouble with other Navcores.
And of course why it seems that they are limited to a few models only.

I was tinkering around with the TomTom XL335SE in an attempt to get sound and a more expanded menu. I ended up with a menu that is half TomTom XL 335SE original menu and half the customized menu with working sound. I have changed navcores a number of times and every time I boot from the menu I get the same results. Before I spend any more time working on it, how to pick which pages from which menu and the order the pages show in, I would like to make sure that it is not just an anomaly related to this device. I would like to see if someone else would try it and report if they get the same results. Thank you.2081

Thanks dgreen. I tested it on XL QI Routes2 and it's works, but menu is a little bit messy. I tried it with 9.151 and 9.160. In both I got soudns and lots options in menu. But it's works like previous solution with tomtom.mnu, so you have to push "done" every time when you want to go to menu.

This menu coding is a bit different.
Full Menu for a Start Give it a go, if you haven't already done so.

a_patch. Here is another one, it is a little shorter but starts in the navigation menu you need to put the icons in your SdkRegistry. The other one I sent I was just checking to see if it worked on other TTs before I spent much time on it. I would like to get the customizable menu but also incorporate the help me, map corrections and change car cursor menus and possibly latitude and longitude, since these are not available on the custom menus.
