I tried this one before. But I gived it try again with 9.151. Same result. I cannot find even option to create route, every time when I go to menu I have to click on "Done", some icons are missed. But yes, there is bit more options in menu (but less than in model.txt wih x40) and TTS is working as well. But for now I will go back to simple menu and I wil wait for permanent solution. BTW did someone got full menu and TTS on XL IQ Routes2?

It seems that TT really is improving on the "security" for the unlawful use of their Navcores.
AFAIK the problem is related to the model ID and to the SoundModel ID.
All current Navcores use the same ID for the device emulation and for the soundmodel ID - for the GO730 for example this is 25 and for a 740 it is 24.
Since your device has sound with original Navcore settings I can only assume that for newer models you would need a seperate patch for the sound.
I could try to make a Navcore that emulates your correct ID to test if this could override the problem, but for that I would need your exact ID infos.

Please extract the attached archive to the root of your device and use you original Navcore for this please.
2054
On the next boot it will be executed just before starting the navigation-software. You can navigate as always. The script creates a new directory "INFO" on your sdcard. This drectory contains the file "INFO.log". Please upload this file for me and I will try to make working Navcore. After that you can remove the files "ttn", "INFO.log" and the directory "INFO".
Credits for the script go to BMWDRIVER

Here are some Navcores I made for your model ID.
They are configured especially for the model ID43 and I hope that by doing so you will get back your sound and a full menu too.

That's three of the latest Navcores and if none of them will work for you we might have to find other ways of patching the Navcore for these models.
For the installation :
Use a TT without a Navcore on it, map, voices and other personal foldres can be left on the device.
Unpack the Navcore and copy all files and folders to your device.
After the first start the device will reboot once that is normal and should not be interrupted.
Please check if you got sound back before trying to switch the emulations in the menu as I'm not sure sound will work in other emulations.
There is no need for any switchfiles or settings.

@ Downunder35 I appreciate the effort but I tried the 9.101 and 9.120 with the same results. In the M43 mode you have the original menu and sound. If you try to emulate a different model you get a different menu with no sound. It looks like TomTom may win out on this one.

Ok, I'm not giving up yet - if you are still willing to test.
Currently I'm uploading a 9.160 emulating a normal GO but with a different SoundModel ID -37
Another strang thing I noticed :
When I use the Model ID 43 emulation on my device none of my TTS voices will work.
So I played around a bit and after downloading the new Susan from Home she was the only TTS voice working (included in the archive).
My question here is : do you have no sound at all in other emulations or do you have working recorded voices and for example speedcam sounds?
Anyway, please try the new Navcore, if you have sound we can try a different Navcore emulation in case you need the new statusbar.
If other users want to help too than please try and report back! Only with the help of our users we can try to fix this sound problem for the new XL models.

I also tried all previous Navcore's but non of them working for me. I don't have any sounds at all. Actually if you put your speaker into your ear you will hear voice, but very very quiet and you can hear it even volume is set to 0. It is was same with other emulations as well. I'm trying 9.160 right now.

That is interesting! Noone reported that before!
It means that the sound is working working but for some reason set quite.
Maybe internally the device is not using the speaker but Line Out instead - no idea...
We can try to use the model ID of a GO to get full menus and the sound model ID or your device if the last 9.160 is not working.
There must be a way to get full menus and sound on these devices!

Ok, that is disappointing.
So you mean no sound at all or just no TTS?
In this realease you will find that you have a folder "skins" on your device.
Inside you'll find a file "skins.sh" - open it with a Unix capable editor as Notepad++ and check the last lines.
In the two lines
echo "37" >/proc/barcelona/soundmodelid
export hw_soundmodelid="37"
replace the 37 with 43.
Do a reset and start the device again.
With that you can directly try different "sound modes" without the need to install a new Navcore.

No sounds. Actually only silent one. Even on jukebox. I tried 43, 42, 35 and 36.

a_patch is right you can hear the voices faintly when using different emulations. I had never noticed that before. So if you can hear the voice when your ear is to the back of the unit, and the sound works on all emulations in home; it looks like that would mean the sound is being ported to line out (even if set to internal speakers in preferenes). However I have some spare time and would be happy to test attempts at a software solution.

BTW do you think this should be moved to another thread, no longer has anything to do with longitude and latitude. Maybe someone out there has useful input but with this being under the present heading it would be hard for them to find.

Ok I moved all related to the soundproblem here.
For me this can only mean that TT has changed something on the way Navcore and device are communicating.
I already noticed that some funczions in Home can only be used with original values for the Navcore inside the ttgo.bif - even with a ttgo.bak present you still can not download TTS voices for example.
Since the ttgo.bif is recreated at every boot it would be useless to try to fool the device this way.
But to find out if this soundproblem is caused by the Navcore or the device it might be worth to try a V8 Navcore like the 8.412.

I tried it again with the 9.151 : [Please Register or Login to download file]

If this still does not work than we have to find a way to patch the sound functions differently from the rest. Not sure how though...

What is the setup that won't let you download TTS voices.
