ihave usa maps on my HTC touch pro 2 tom tom for my trip next month, but now im getting into to all this i was going to put it on my tom tom xl as well, but as its only 1 gig no card slot there is not enough room, i think i read you can get florida stat maps only which would fit

any ideas if you can get it and from where

downloaded florida and have a couple of questions, in the florida mapthere are loads of sub folders with city names containing each citys tom tom files
to get the map to work do i use the full florida folder or just the city i want

also to add us speed cams do i use the full us speed cam files and if so do i just copy them into the main florida folder, or a city sub folder

hope this makes sense

Copy all of the Sub-Folders from inside "Florida" to your devices root (All 70 folders or only the states you want) then run Fastactivator from the root of your device to patch the maps and then reeboot , to change the map you are in go to "Change Prefrences" > "Switch Maps"

And to use the speedcam files copy the US cam files to whatever city map/'s you want to have the speedcam alerts in, Remeber only use Normall or Premium cams you can not use both together, Premium are better is my opinion

ihave on and running uk roi 850 2872 (patched via an old key gen method)

so i liked the look of fast activation and tried this with florida maps and uk roi 8502871

both seem to have failed as it says you can not use these maps on this device

is it because my device a one xl 30 is not supposed to swap betweend maps and i can have only one map at a time on it or could the problem lie else where

Your unit is fine to switch between maps, but seems you have done something wrong, check the UK map folder is there a file in the map folder called
"United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-161.meta[color="Red"].dct[/color]" The .dct being the important extension here This is the file you get when suxcessfully patchd your map .

• Download the newest version of FastActivator Light Edition
• Copy FastActivate.exe to your root directry
• Run FastActivat.exe press "Activate Map/Voices/Speedcams"
• This will create them .dct files i talkd about earlyer in each map folder you have on there , remember the map files can not have a space in between words you must use underscore "_"

If you have done this and have a .dct in your map folders the other thing i can think you may have done is patchd your SE ttsystem, these are already patchd and do not need patching, download 9.053 SE ttsystem again and copy it to your device overwrighting when prompted

sorted maps were in sub folders once iput the main map folder into the root drive of the device it picked then up and patched them

now have 8502871 uk roi and florida maps with speed cams working so cool

The Florida CITY maps that you have are very old and outdated. With the population & construction growth in Florida, you will find them to be unreliable. If your USA maps are 850 versions, they will serve you much better.

Yes i also advise to use a USA map and delite the existing map while you are away, and when you are home put back on the UK map

it does seem abit out of date, the problem is the us maps i have8502873 is 766mb and as my unit is 1 gig (no sd card) then i only have 725 mb free even after ditching all the voices etc i dont use

any other suggestions would be great

A navcore is only 40MB more or less. There should be plenty of room, unless your 1GB is not a full 1GB. Connect your unit to your puter. Open windows explorer, right click on your TomTom drive. Click "properties". There you will see the true capacity of your 1GB.

As pietu sez, you can't have both maps loaded at the same time.

thats the problem uk maps is for going to the airport 3 hr drive, then us maps once overthere .Have both uk and orlando on now running fine but not enough room to replace orlando with usa

978 mb in use 265mb free space 712mb even removing orlando only gives me 725 free and the usa map is 766

think i may just have to stick with orlando map better than nothing i suppose
